Grand Cherokee Performance

There's plenty of power for daily drives or weekend adventures when behind the wheel of the 2018 Grand Cherokee. The base engine is a 3.6-liter V6, which produces 295-horsepower, great for necessary highway maneuvers and pass-and-merge driving. Overall, the Grand Cherokee has four different engine options.

There's serious power with the 6.4-liter V8 engine, which produces 470-horsepower and 465 lb-ft of torque. There's even a Grand Cherokee engine that produces up to 707-horsepower, for a true pavement-shaking kind of experience. The Quadra-Lift air suspension system is capable of adjusting ride height and smooths out on-road handling with its load-leveling capabilities. This can lift the Grand Cherokee up to 10.8 inches, allowing for 20 inches of water fording if you're heading off-pavement.

Towing Versatility and Off-Roading

The 2018 Grand Cherokee has a maximum towing capacity of up to 7,200 pounds when it's properly equipped. The trailer sway control technology is able to reduce the chances of an attached trailer from swaying, and improves handling when towing conditions are tough. Trailer sway control is able to apply brake pressure on alternating wheels and adjust engine throttle, if necessary, to eliminate sway and keep the vehicle and trailering system stable.

There are various four-wheel drive systems in the Jeep Grand Cherokee to deliver a true off-roading experience. The Quadra-Drive II system can transfer torque to the rear wheels with traction to maintain forward movement. The Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System comes with up to five different settings for the best possible experience, regardless of the surface you're driving on. Settings beyond the auto mode include snow, sand, mud, and rock.

Interior Amenities and Technology

Jeep has made a few changes to the interior and tech features for the 2018 model. And, they're pretty positive ones if you ask us. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ are now standard features inside the Grand Cherokee. This makes it easy to link up your compatible smartphone to the center stack and interact with navigation apps, the music stored on your phone, or text messages. A 7-inch touchscreen is now standard, too.

The Grand Cherokee seats five people on comfortable cloth seats. Higher trim levels include heated and cooled front seats and softer leather seating surfaces.
